Joseph was married to Harriett Wilson on 02 Sep 1841 at the home of his Uncle, Owen Sullivan, in Lauderdale County, Mississippi by James B. Rawling, JP. The marriage license had been issued on 28 Aug 1841.[1][2][3][4]
He is listed on the 1872 Smith County, Mississippi Land Tax List as follows:
Sullivan, Joseph - 80 acres described as the N 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 20, Township 10, Range 16 West.[5]
Joseph also appears on the 1881 Personal Tax List for Smith County, Mississippi in the town of Zion Hill.[6] And again in 1883's assessment.[7]
He served as a private in Co G, 5th MS Infantry, CSA, joining on 12 Aug 1861 from Smith County, Mississippi.[8]
Joseph is buried in New Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Olive, Smith county, Mississippi.[9][10]
