Joseph Vander Sullivan was born 21 Mar 1894[1] at the homeplace a half mile down the road from New Sardis Baptist Church in Smith County, Mississippi[2] to Jefferson Davis Sullivan and Frances Jane Harvey.[3][4][5][6][7]
He was a PFC in the US Army during WWI[1] and in 1918 at the time of the draft he was described as being of medium height and build with blue eyes and light brown hair. He was single and working on the family farm.[4]
He married Ruby[6] and the couple had the following known children:
Roland Sullivan was born about 1223 in Mississippi.[6]
Roy Sullivan was born about 1925 in Mississippi.[6]
Cory Sullivan was born about 1926 in Mississippi.[6]
Guy Sullivan was born about 1929 in Mississippi.[6]
Pat Sullivan was born about 1930 in Mississippi.[6]
Vander died 13 May 1981 and is buried in New Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt Olive, Smith County, Mississippi.[1][8][9][10]
