Biography

Johanna/Josephine was born in Newport, Rhode Island, at the corner of Thomas and Carey Streets on 26 January 1889. She was the first child of Michael Sullivan, a laborer, born in Ireland, and Mary Holland, born in Ireland.^[1]

Josephine was married to Harry Wilkins in 1925 when they were living with Josephine's parents at 34 Extension Street in Newport. Josephine was 36 years old. Harry Wilkins, age 34, born in Maine, is identified as the son-in-law of Michael Sullivan. Josephine and Harry had a son, George W. Wilkins, age 7 years who was born in Rhode Island and is enumerated as Michael Sullivan's grandson.^[2]

Josephine Wilkins, born 25 January 1889, died in October 1967, her last residence in Newport, Rhode Island.^[3]
