According to the 1900 Census enumeration, P. R. Summer was born in May 1867 in Pennsylvania. His father was said to have been born in Vermont; his mother in New Hampshire. He had been married to Lydia B for nine years and they had three children, ages 4-7 years old, living with them.[1]
Family lore says his full name was Philo William Robins Summer; that he was born on May 2, 1867 in Covington, Pennsylvania, United States of America; that he married Lydia Bell Sands on July 3, 1890 in Elmira, New York, United States of America; and that he died on December 8, 1945 in Glen Allen, Virginia, United States of America.[2]
