Biography

Birth and Baptism

André Surprenant was the son of of Charles Surprenant dit la Fontaine and Marie Anne Malliot.[1][2] Originally, the baptismal register for Longueil said that he was baptized on 30 December 1734, but it appeared with the November baptisms and later November was written above the word "December" indicating that he was baptized in November.[1][2] He was born the day before he was baptized.[1][2] His godparents were François Malliot and Marie Surprenant.[1][2]

Marriage and Family

On 26 Jan 1761 at Varennes, André Surprenant married Marguerite Joffrion, daughter of Gabriel Joffrion and Marguerite Fontaine.[3]

Death and Burial

André dit Lafontaine est décédé en 1800.[4]

André Surprenant dit Lafontaine died the 27 Aug 1800, at the age of 66, and was buried the next day in the cemetery of Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu.[5]
