Isaac Suttles (Settle) was born in 1695 in St. Mary's Parish, Old Rappahannock, Richmond, Virginia to John Settle (Setle) and Mary Strother. He married Charity Browne on 24 Sep 1726 in King George, Virginia. Children: Margaret, Joseph, Isaac, Elizabeth, George, Mary, William, Martha, Phoebe, Alice, Jemima. He was a farmer.
By deed dated 29 Oct 1734, Isaac Settle purchased from his father-in-law, Maxfield Browne, ...all that tract of land whereon he (Maxfield Browne) now liveth,...lying and being in Parish of Hanover in the County of King George." The consideration was 3,200 pounds of tobacco. This tract of land containing 100 acres, ...with all houses, outhouses, tobacco houses, barns, buildings and edifiros, whatsoever, Gardens, Orchards, woods, underwoods, ways water and water courses..., was bound by the lands of John Settle, Sr., Joseph Settle, Joseph Dodd and Captain Benjamin Strother. Isaac Settle appears to have made his home on this tract of land some 14 years.
The names of his surviving children are set forth in two court orders. The first order is found in Order book 1754-55, p 108-09, Prince William Co., VA. The second is found in Order Book 1759-63, p. 33, Fauquier Co., VA. Page 58-61, The Settle-Suttle Book. He passed away in 1752.
"Ordered that Jarret Wilkinson be summoned to appear at next court, to declare whether he will take upon himself the guardianship of Francis Suttle orphan of Isaac Suttle deceased."
The second court order, addressed to the Sheriff of Fauquier County, 28 September 1759, commands that he summon -
"...Joseph Suttle Executor & c. of Isaac Suttle Dec'd George Suttle Francis Suttle William Suttle Martha Suttle Alice Suttle and Jemima Suttle to appear before our Justices of our said County Court at the Courthouse of the said County on the fourth Thursday in next month to answer a Bill in Chancery exhibited against them by Gerrared Wilkinson & Elizabeth his wife Taylor Wilkinson & Mary his wife, Benjamin Morgan and Phoebe his wife and have them there this Writ.Witness Humphrey Brooks Clerk of our said Court at the Courthouse the thirty first Day of July in the thirty third Year of our Reign Humphrey Brooks Copy left for George Suttle & Jemima Suttle & Executed on all the Rest Pickett" (Sheriff)
He died of smallpox in 1752 in Prince William, Virginia.
Listed as born in Old Rappahannock county in 1695, but the county was no longer existent in 1695 as it had been broken up in 1692 into Richmond and Essex counties.

"The last will & Testament of ISAAC SUTTLE decd presented in Court by JOSEPH SUTTLE & ISAAC SUTTLE hrs. therein named who made oath thereto and being proved by the oaths of the Witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded, JOSEPH SUTTLE, ISAAC SUTTLE, BENJAMIN SUTTLE & JOHN ARNALD acknowledged a bond for the faithfull administration of the Estate of Isaac Suttle decd which is ordered to be recorded. Ordered that JOSEPH HUDNALL, JOHN GARNER, WILLIAM MORGAN & VINCENT GARNER or any three of them being fin-. sworn before some Justice of the peace for this County appraise all and singular the Estate of ISAAC SETTLE deced which shall be presented to their view and that the Exors return an Inventory thereof to the next Court."
