Mike Orr, do you have a source that this person's birth name was Kibbe (or Kibbey, or Kibby)? Ancestry.com itself is not a source. I have found many errors there. Please read the bio at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unknown-248156, which is a more complete profile of this person. I believe that this profile should be deleted. I would suggest merging it, but see no point, as there are multiple problems with this profile (Benjamin used Sitton, not Sutton).
Being a Kibbey myself. I have found the surname spelled all of those ways. I live in Oregon. My line of Kibbeys is here spelled with the "ey". I also have found another branch of Kibby here as well. I was able to connect them up through my 8th great grandparents, Elisha and Rachel (Cooke) Kibbe. This branch is spelled Kibby.
Yes, being a descendant of the Kibbeys (you and I are undoubtedly distant cousins), I am aware of the different spellings. The point is, this person already exists at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unknown-248156, and no documentation has been found that she was a Kibbey (or Kibbe or Kibby). You might want to read that profile. Also, see my tree for my Kibbey connection. If you find documentation that Lydia was indeed a Kibbey, by all means please say so, and we can merge these profiles.
There are several theories .
One is that Edward Kibbe had a wife before Mary Partridge. That he may have had a daughter named Lydia from that first marriage in 1637.
However, there was another Edward Kibbe in the area at the time who did have a daughter named Lydia.

A different Edward Kibbe married Mary Linton and had a daughter named Lydia in 1637.

I see what you mean. I have had trouble in this part of my tree as well.
My line goes through Elisha and Rachel to their son Edward Kibbe /Dorothy Phelps. Then their son Jacob Kibbe and Grace Sitton....and on down.
Grace Sitton's parents show to be Benjamin Sitton and Lydia (Kibbe?).
Jacob and Grace would have been first cousins. Which is possible.
However, when I pull out my "Kibbe Genealogical Notes" book. Lydia does not show up as one of Elisha and Rachel (Cooke) Kibbe's children.
So, no proof, as such, for Lydia being a Kibbe.
I am looking around online.

No documented proof. Hmmmmm.
