Francis M. Sutton enlisted on April 1, 1862, in Co. K2, in Iuka, Mississippi, at age 22. He was wounded on July 8, 1862, at Williams Fort and left in hands of the enemy. Prisoner of War. Death, July 19, 1863, from a gunshot wound to knee.
John A. enlisted on April 30, 1861, in Iuka, Mississippi, Co. K2. He was born in Franklin County, Alabama, five feet, ten inches tall, dark-complected, black eyes and black hair. A farmer by trade. On May 27, 1862, he was discharged from Richmond, VA.
William H enlisted on March 1, 1862, in Iuka, Mississippi., Co. K2. On April 30th, 1862, he is reported as wounded at Seven Pines, May 29, 1862. The date of death is unknown per records but states he died in Virginia and born in Franklin County, Alabama. He was five foot eleven inches tall, light complexion, grey eyes, black hair and was a farmer. He had received a furlough and reported he died on the way to Mississippi on or about August 1, 1862.
George was born in December, 1841. George Sutton ...George married Francis Moody Jan. 21, 1866 in Alcorn County, Mississippi. In 1870 his wife is listed on the census as Fannie and she was born in Mississippi as well as Jasper. Also listed is Martha J. Moody born in Mississippi and is eleven years old. He passed away in 1918.[1]
In the 1860 census George (age 20) was in Tishomingo, Mississippi.[2]
