In 1086, Siward "of Sutton" was tenant-in-chief of Sutton, Nottinghamshire, England. [3]
According to The Antiquities of Nottinghamshire, William son of Seelward had a manor in Sutton, which was afterwards given to Earl Alan of Richmond, whose tenant was Hervey. [4]
