Elizabeth Sutton was born 24 Oct 1724 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Rev. David Sutton and Elizabeth Cox. She passed away 12 Mar 1812 and is buried in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Flanders, Morris County, New Jersey. She was the wife of Jacob Casad. They had a son named Samuel, 1760-1841.[1] The picture of the headstone appears to say she died 10 Mar 1815.[2]
Another source gives her birth as 10 Oct 1724 in Somerset County, Colony of New Jersey, giving the same father, but her mother as Sarah Trembley.
Elizabeth was married to Jacob Cossart, or Casad, also Cozad, before 1754, perhaps several years before. They had at least the following children, perhaps some older:
Her age at death given by the original creator of the profile was 33-34.
This is consistent with a death date of 1758; but not with 1812 given in Find-A-Grave. To me, the photograph of her headstone appears to give her date of death (year) as 1815. I cannot read her age at death from the tombstone. A birth year of 1724 would make her age 95 in 1815, or 92 in 1812.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
12 March 1812 is the date of death of Elizabeth Tingley Cozad, 2nd wife of Jacob Cozad. HIs first wife, Elizabeth Sutton, died about 1758. Jacob Cozad is buried between his two wives in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The inscription still remaining is on the gravestone of Elizabeth Tingley, not Elizabeth Sutton.
William Pearl Cozad in his 1900 book, Genealogy and Brief History of the Descendants of Job and Hannah (Winmans) Cozad of Branchville, Sussex County, New Jersey, gives her birthdate as 10 Oct 1724, and birthplace as Somerset County, New Jersey. Cozad does not give his sources.
