Biography
Nils Peter SVENSSON was born on 11 Apr 1821 in Knästorp, Målilla, Kalmar, Sweden[1], died on 11 Sep 1899 in White Rock, Republic Co., Kansas at age 78 and was buried in Sep 1899 in Scandia, Republic Co., Kansas. Another name for Nils was Nels Swanson.
Nils was married to Anna Lovisa Nilsdotter in about 1845 and they had at least 6 children. Anna died in 1855 and Nils next married Caroline Andersdotter in 1861. They immigrated to the US in 1868, living first in Woodhull, Illinois and later moving to Iowa. In 1878 the family moved to Republic County, Kansas and homesteaded north and east of Courtland.
