Biography

Elijah Swain Elijah was the son of John Swain and Mary Swett. He married Susanna Cathcart (daughter of Gershom and Phebe Cathcart) July 23, 1735 on Nantucket Island.^{[1] [2]}

At some point prior to 1765, Elijah & Susanna were living in Barrington, Nova Scotia. Elijah was #50 in selection of Land Grants for Barrington, being granted lot numbers 44 to 50 and certain fish lots along Clash Point & Eel Cove Neck extending to Briant's Neck or Beach Point. ^[3]

Elijah passed away on 26 July 1789 in Nantucket, Massachusetts, United States. ^[4]
