Biography

Albert Gallatin Swann was born April 3, 1875 at Barboursville, Cabell County, West Virginia, United States. He was a son of Calvary Morris Swann Jr. and Elizabeth Jane Raines. In 1897, Albert married Minnie Mae Groves (1878-1917), daughter of George Washington Groves and Elizabeth J. Henson. He passed away June 26, 1943 in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. Albert was a painter and worked as an attendant at Huntington State Hospital in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. Children of Albert and Minnie were: Howard Everett Swann (1898-1975), Raymond Franklin Swann (1899-1971), Ivan Edward Swann (1901-1972), George Clifford Swann (1903-1978), Clarice E. Swann Strank (1905-1976), Lyle Albert Swann (1908-1979), and Georgia Lucille Swann (1909-1980.
