Edgar Swan was born 05 Jan^[1] 1909 in Alabama^[2][3] to Reuben Swann and Elizabeth "Lizzie"^[3] Lawley.^[4]

He married Willie Carroll on 12 Feb 1930 in Bessemer, Jefferson County, Alabama^[5][2][3] and the couple had the following known children:

1. Claude C. Swan was born in Alabama about 1931.^[2]
