Kinsman was the s/o Samuel B. Sweet and Zelpha Porter.
Kinsman was born in 1845. He married Ardellice Porter in July of 1873. Marriage registration shows that he is a bachelor of 28 years old and a merchant. Ardellice is noted to be 22 and a spinster. Residence at time of marriage is Country Harbour, Cornwallis. Witnesses are Thomas Griffin (possibly Kinsman's brother in law?) and Harding Sweet (Kinsman's brother).
Kinsman was a general merchant and ran the hotel at Cross Roads. His nephew Sandy took over the store (and later rebuilt it) when Kinsman and his wife and family moved to Antigonish. He opened a general store there. They had 7 children, 2 of which were born after the move to Antigonish ( Ardellice and Harry).
Kinsman died on May 10, 1913. Death registration states that he was married and living on Pleasant St in Antigonish and was a merchant. Cause of death; rectal abscess, blood poisoning and exhaustion. Illness last for 1 month. Burial in St James Cemetery. Name of person making return, R.R. Griffin (perhaps a son-in-law?)
