Amana Sweeting was born in 1857 in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas.
Benjamin Edward Sawyer and Amana Sweeting, daughter of Henry Sweeting, were married by Reverend Joseph Prior in 1874 at the home of Samuel Sawyer in Green Turtle Cay. Benjamin Edward was 20 years of age, and Amana Sweeting was 17.
The Sawyers moved to Key West and had a daughter - Susie Edith Sawyer- born in 1893. Benjamin Edward Sawyer died the same year at 41 years of age. Amana subsequently married William Aladdin "Laddie" Sawyer in Key West in 1899.
Amana Sweeting Sawyer died in Key West, Florida in 1928.
