Biography

Louisa Ellen Sykes was born to James & Louisa Sykes about 1879 at St Helens in Lancashire.

In 1881 she was living with them and three older sisters at 53, New Campbell Street, Eccleston, in Prescot, Lancashire,

By 1891 she was aged 11 and living with them and four siblings at Williamson Street, Parr, in Prescot

In 1901 she was aged 22 and working as a General domestic Servant for Joseph Cocker and his family at 468, Lees Road in Oldham.

She married their son Samuel Herbert Cocker shortly after that census during the third quarter of 1901 at Oldham.

By 1911 they were living with their daughter Edith and a with her own domestic servant at the same address where her husband was now head of the household.
