Hale and hearty and in the enjoyment of unimpaired health. Mr. Seth Sykes, on of South Attica’s well known residents, passed his 80th birthday last Thursday. In honor of the occasion about twenty of Mr. Sykes neighbor and friends assembled at his home that evening and presented him with a fine rocking chair. The affair was a surprise to Mr. Sykes. His first intimation of the party came in the form of a serenade by the younger members, who arrived with tin horns, whistles, ect., proclaimed the arrival of the guests. Refreshments were served and the guests departed at a late hour wishing him many happy returns of the day.
