Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful. Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a
process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.
Do not change the names on your own profile, this one that you're on. This one is for you, the other is for William, and is connected to his family, while you are not connected to anyone on this one. If you decided to add your own family ,you would connect them to this one.
Let Michael or me know if you have any more questions.
You need to be confirmed as a Volunteer before you can do merges etc. I see that you have been making changes to your profile. but before I can confirm your membership, you need to post here on your profile a statement about how you intend to contribute to our one world tree.
Just saw your new message. My wife will gladly debate you on that "wiser" part. Have you tried the Help Menu? If you go to Contact Team, there is a listing for Chris Whitten, or Brian Casey. I would try one (or both) of them.
Good Luck,
Fred
I am in the process (I think) of a merge. I have an account from the past year which I am trying to merge with an account I started today, only I don't exactly know how to do this.
