Else Marie Sørensdatter was born on 20 June 1831 in Fjellerad, Gunderup Parish, Fleskum District, Aalborg County, Denmark, and she was christened in the den Danske Folkekirke = the Danish National (Lutheran) Church in Gunderup on 24 July 1831.[1]
Religion: In her youth, Else was a member of the Danske Folkekirke (Danish National Lutheran Church). She was confirmed at the Gunderup Church, Gunderup Parish, Fleskum District, Aalborg County, Denmark on 19 April 1846.[2] She was still reported as Lutheran in the 1855 Census.
Else Marie was betrothed to Jacob Pedersen on 5 December 1852, and the pair were wed on 24 January 1853 in the parish church at Gunderup, Fleskum District, Aalborg County, Denmark.[3]
She and her husband were converted in Denmark to the Mormon faith, and after an excursion to Utah where they became disaffected with the LDS Church, they joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (R.L.D.S.) Church.
Baptism: Elsie Marie Sørensen was baptized into the RLDS church (Platte Branch) on 2 November 1869 by Christen Christenson in Guilford, Nodaway Co., MO. Confirmed by Ole Madison.
