DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Robert by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Robert:

Hi Jane,

Thanks. Hoping we can drill down to a reliable Pre-1700 source.

Unless I missed something, I haven't seen a reliable source for the information on Wikipedia or FindAGrave.

Have I missed something? -Gene.

You missed Holme-73. Richard Robert Faun not Taft

Because Richard Robert Taft. Same ID

Is both married To Margaret Faun and father of Richard Richard Faun’s daughter

That "Richard Robert Taft" (Taft-139) assuming such a person existed, does not seem associated with this Taft-18.

The Margaret Holme (Holme-73) about whom you write, was reported born in 1583, This Taft-18 was born 1674,--Gene

You missed Holme-73

Richard Robert Faun not Taft. Richard Robert Taft can’t be possible

Taft-97. Can’t be both husband and parent to Faun’s daughter

My 6th Great Grandfather. Jane
What evidence is there for his birth place as Braintree? --Gene

Taft-165 and Taft-18 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, birth dates work (one is "before"), same marriage.

Please approve if you agree. Thanks!
