Richard Talbott was born in 1764 in Fairfax County, Virginia to William Talbott of England.[1] Richard's siblings included Cottrell Talbott and Charity Talbott.
Richard may have been the first white settler in Barbour County, and arrived there in 1780 when it was called Monongalia County.[1]
Richard married Margaret Dowden (who married at the age of eleven, one day shy of being twelve).[1] The couple had several children, including Samuel Talbott (b. 1790), Mary Ann Talbott (b. 1792), Jacob Talbott (b.
1794), Abraham Talbott (b. 1796), Isaac Talbott (b. 1798), Robert Talbott (b. 1801), Elisha Talbott (b. 1804), Silas Talbott (b. 1806), Absalom Talbott (b. 1807), Elam Talbott (b. 1810), Zachariah Talbott (b. 1513), Margaret Talbott (b. 1815), and Elizabeth Talbott (b. 1819).[1]
Richard passed away in 1847 in Barbour County, Virginia (now West Virginia).[2]
Richard may have been part of Haplogroup R1b (R1b1a1a2).[3]
