Biography

Mildred was born in 1709. The daughter of Charles Taliaferro and Ann Kempe Taliaferro She married William Strother and James Gerald. She passed away in 1766.

Notes: 1751-1761 Spotsylvania County, Virginia Deed Book E; {William Armstrong Crozier}: May 9, 1749. William Strother of Culpeper Co. to Kemp Taliaferro of Caroline Co. £20 ster. All right, title, interest or claim which sd. Strother. has himself or by right of his wife, Mildred, under the will of Zachary Taliaferro, Decd. Witnesses, John Field, Reuben Long. April 6, 1761.

Upon the death of her husband William Strother (Strother-456) she married James Gerrald and they had one son, Gabrial Gerrald. She was also pre-deceased by her second husband.

2. a) Kemp, an infant in 1729, died soon after 1749, leaving a widow, Mary, and a son Harry.
2. b) Mildred, married under age in 1729 to William Strother.
3. Robert Taliaferro
4. Zachary, Will dated 21 February 1721, proved some years after his death in Essex County in May 1745.
5. Richard Taliaferro.
6. William Taliaferro. died intestate without issue
7. Sarah Taliaferro married John Battaile
8. Catharine Taliaferro.
There was another John Taliaferro also a Haye Taliaferro mentioned, whose relationship is not shown.

Talioferro-1 and Taliaferro-183 appear to represent the same person because: I believe Taliaferro is the historically accepted spelling, this is an important profile because I think this actually the grandmother of Zachary Taylor
