The maiden name of the wife of John Craig is not known. There is no proof that she was a Taliaferro.
There is a tradition, without much support (but repeated through many online trees), that she was the daughter of John Taliaferro and Sarah Smith, but John's will names no such daughter. For more details, please see notes and sources for John Craig, her husband. She has been detached from these parents, and her last name changed to Unknown.
Jane was born about 1681, possibly in Virginia,[1] possibly Scotland.[2]
Others, without source, claim a specific birth of 02 APR 1684 in Richmond, Virginia.
She married in Virginia about 1703 John Craig by whom she had:[3]
She is reported to have died in OCT 1705 in Spotsylvania, Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Her death place was originally given as Oregon in Spotsylvania County, a place I have been unable to obtain any information about. Prickett-120 02:00, 23 April 2018 (UTC).

This profile appears to rely heavily on sources that are not recommended for pre 1700 profiles. And frankly many of us feel they should not be used on any wikitree profiles. They are certainly listed as unreliable and subject to removal on more than a ew wikitree projects, including US Southern colonies. I'm hoping that the profile managers here will take on improving the sources of this profile. Thanks.
Taliaferro-18 and UNKNOWN-60322 appear to represent the same person because: Notes on Taliaferro-18 as well as that on spouse John Craig demonstrate insufficient support for Taliaferro as a maiden name. The maiden name of the wife of John Craig is not known.
There is a three-year-old pending Unmerged Match that needs resolving. Fred's 2016 comment below suggests that the origins of the wife of John Craig may be Unknown. Should we not merge this profile into the Unknown profile linked to below?
I can find no source for a Jane born to John Taliaferro and Sarah Smith. There is no Jane mentioned in John Taliaferro's will. Do you have anything other than the imported Ancestry.com data?
