Hey Katelyn,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Questions? Ask via my profile page. Mags

Hi Katelyn, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your Irish Roots, I wanted to let you know we have a lively project that focuses on Irish family here called the Irish Roots Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

The project pages contain lots of advice, links videos etc for researching Irish ancestors.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the Irish Roots Project will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.

Good luck with your research in 2015.

Hello Katelyn,

How are you doing? Hope you're enjoying our site.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able. Just ask!

Hi Katelyn,

Thanks for volunteering to help grow our one world tree.

Please drop into our friendly Genealogist to Genealogist (G2G) forum to introduce yourself to other WikiTreers - you can access the G2G by selecting G2G Profile from your My WikiTree menu at the top right of most pages.

WikiTree can be a bit overwhelming at first, so don't hesitate to post your questions in the G2G.

Good luck with connecting your leaves and branches to our big tree,

Maryann

Hello all! I'm the product of two (assumed) Irish lines (Tanner & Talley), and I've always wanted to know if that assumption is correct. I've also wondered how far back its possible to trace those lines.

I think my Uncle (who's a Tanner) has done some genealogical research on his family's line, and my husband's family (Dekle's) have traced the Dekle line back to Germany & the 3 brothers that came over to America on one of Oglethorpe's ships around the late 1700's.

I'd be happy to help wherever I can be of assistance. -Katelyn
