Biography

(1) "James ye son of John Talmage was borne on tuesday ye 11th of June 1689" in New Haven, Connecticut[1].

(2) James' mother, the wife of John Talmadge was Abigail Bishop[2].

(3) James, son of Jno, was baptized 22 July 1689[3].

(4) "James Talmadge & Hannah Harison were maried at Branford by Mr Saml Rusell July 1st 1713."[4]

(5) The printed version of the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records, for Branford tells us that Hannah Harison, the daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah, was born 28 July 1690.

(6) Capt. James Talmadge and Mrs. Marcy Ailing/Mercy Alling, both of New Haven, were married 5 July 1744 by the Rev. Mr. Nathan Birdsey of West Haven[5].

(7) Mercy was d/o John & Elizabeth (Wilmot) Mix, and wid. of Ebenezer Alling, b 16 Apr 1692[2].

(8) James & Hannah had children born in New Haven: Abigail b 14 Aug 1714; James b 10 Feb 1715/6; John b 25 May 1718; Hannah b 7 Feb 1719/20; Ann b 12 June 1722; Dorothy b 23 Jan 1723/4; Benjamin b 31 Dec 1725; ?Charles bp. 30 July 1727; Timothy b 2 Feb 1729/30. Charles bp. 31 Oct 1736 and Sybil bp. 24 Sep 1738, may also be their children.[2].

(9) Jacobus lists no death date for James[2].

Please merge Tallmadge-52 into Talmadge-91. All of the other family members use the spelling with one 'L'. These are profiles for the same person.
