Native Virginian

Frances Tanner, born in Virginia in 1694,^[1] was the second daughter of Thomas and Mary (Atwell) Tanner. She married Francis Awbrey (also spelled Aubrey) before 1711.^[2] He was the brother of John Awbrey (D. & W. No. 8, 1723-38, p. 179).^[3]

Francis and Frances (Tanner) Awbrey moved to Prince William County, Virginia. The records show that they had at least two sons, John Awbrey and Frances Awbrey, Jr.^[3]

Francis's wife was included in his 1741 will, although not by name.^[4] She died in 1744.^[3]
