Benjamin was born in 1758 [citation needed].

He passed away in 1804. [citation needed]

Research Notes

The imported entry of Tanner-294 stated his birth to be about 1746, presumably to be in accord with the stated death of his mother from the same import (Ann (Sweet) Tanner (abt.1714-bef.1757)). The second version (Tanner-5708) which is now merged, stated it to be in 1758.

This person appears on the FamilySearch webtree, with the same father but a different mother, Deliverence (Briggs) Tanner (abt.1714-1813).

If you have sources that determine his year of birth and hence which of the two was his mother, please add them and delete this research note.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:

Tanner-294 and Tanner-5708 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be the same person. The birth dates didn't match up, which is why I didn't catch it before, but everything else seems to match.

I'd gotten the birth year of 1756 from marriage records on Ancestry.
