Biography

Lydia Tanner was born in September 1837 in Georgia.[1] She is probably the daughter of Berry Hampton Tanner and Elizabeth Taylor.[2] Lydia married Moses J. Kirkland about 1856.[1] They had 5 children, only 2 of whom were living in 1900.[1] Lydia could not read nor write.[3][4] She died in October, 1906 and is buried in Kirkland Cemetery, Coffee County, Georgia.[2]
