She and Zed K Simpson, son of Ruffin Simpson and S. A. Simpson, were married on 12 August 1914 at the home of W. Q, Hagler, Justice of the Peace, in Goose Creek township, Union County, North Carolina. Between 1916 and 1925, the couple had five children.[2]
Zed and Arrie started Simpson's Eggs in 1959. The family business is still going strong.[3]
Arrie died on 4 December 1990 in Monroe, Union County, North Carolina and was buried in the cemetery at New Hope Baptist Church In Monroe. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe handled the arrangements.[4]

↑ According to their #Marriage License, her parents were J. M. Tarleton and Rosa Tarleton of New Salem, both living. His mother was also a resident of New Salem; his father was dead. See the #1920 and #1930 Census records for information about the children. Her #FindAGrave record shows Zed's parents as son of Leander Ruffin and Serena Ann Mullis Simpson. Two of her five children are included on the FindAGrave record: Kate Estelle Simpson Haigler Edwards (1915 - 2007)* and Myrtle Simpson Chaney (1917 - 2011)*
