Obituary

From Ancestry.com: The Custer County Chief newspaper, Custer County, Nebraska. Mrs. John R. Wooters died September 27, 1918, at her home near Broken Bow, Nebraska, aged 80 years, 7 months, and 27 days. She was one of Custer County's old-time residents. Amanda was born in Marion County, Illinois in 1838. In 1855, she married John R. Wooters. Ten children were born to them, three dying in infancy, and one daughter, Mrs. Esther Walter, died at Broken Bow, on August 6, 1906. The family came to Nebraska in 1887, and she make her home here in this state ever since. Mrs. Wooters died 07/27/1915. She is survived by five sons, and a daughter, 25 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. When she was 16 years of age, she united with the Christian Church, and has been a faithful member until the time of her death.

Buried at Broken Bow Cemetery, Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska.
