Will of William Tate, Yeoman, Mill Creek Hundred[3][4]
For a good overview of Ann's children, see this Rootsweb entry for Daniel Nichols,[9] which raises the possibility of two Marthas in the family - Martha (daughter of William & Martha) m Chandler & Martha (daughter of Ann and Isaac) m Painter.
Monthly Meetings
Hockessin and Centre MM are the same location.[10]
Centre MM built their first building in 1708. Hockessin began meeting in the 1730’s. They were very much separate meetings.

DAR Record
DAR records show his birth as before 1732, in Pennsylvania, and his wives as (1) Martha Dixon, (2) Ann Nichols Dixon. DAR lists just one son, William, married Esther Painter. The main DAR records do not indicate which spouse is the parent; DAR descendant records indicate William was son of his 2nd wife Ann.[12] (DAR records only include children with descendants who have joined DAR.)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
Tate-1434 and Tate-489 appear to represent the same person because: based on wives and sources on Tate-489, these profiles are intended to be the same person. However, the difference in parents needs to be resolved. Tate-489 appears to have some sources, while Tate-1434 indicates that there are no sources for the information.
Tate-4034 and Tate-1434 do not represent the same person because: One or the other or both may be confusing the Sr. and Jr. Tate's. Please give me some more time to do research and propose again.
