William was born about 1716. He passed away in 1780.

Deposition Request for Division of Estate

Suit filed by Charles and Sarah Tate Daniel in Louisa County, Virginia over division of the estate of William Tate. It is available online at the Library of Virginia Archives, Chancery Court Records, Case # 1784-004. The downloadable zip file contains 29 PDF documents. Several of the documents name all the children and grandchildren of William Tate, deceased who would have been living or who would have died with issue as of 17 July 1782.

From Document 23 [command to assemble and take depositions] dated 17 July 1782:

The Common Wealth of Virginia to William Phillips & John Poindexter. Gent: Greeting know ye that we trusting in your fidelity and provident circumspection in Deligently Examining whatsoever witnesses as will In Behalf of Charles Daniel and Sarah his wife plaintiffs, as on Behalf of Zimry Tate, Enos Tate, James Tate and Wm Tate Exors and Legatees of Wm Tate Decd

& Mayfield, Thomas, Anna, Zimry, Elizabeth & Enos Tate Children of Zimry Tate,
