Biography

Nancy was born about 1752.

Nancy Tate married James Anthony in 1772.[1] James and Nancy Ann (TATE) ANTHONY (Sr.). were the parents of

  1. Sarah,
  2. Henry,
  3. Edmund,
  4. Micajah,
  5. Joseph B.,
  6. Nancy Tate (Anthony) Davis,
  7. James Anthony, Jr.,[2]
  8. Dr. Milton Anthony, Sr., and
  9. Bolling Anthony.

Nancy passed away in 1834.[3][4]

"[Georgia] Land Lottery, 1807: James ANTHONY, Jr., living in Wilkes Co., Ga., drew Lot no. 82, Norman's Militia District No. 13, Baldwin Co. Only the western part of the present Baldwin Co. was in the lottery. Jones Co. was formed 1807, from Baldwin, Bibb, and Putnam counties.

"Morgan Co., Ga., record, Deed Book C p. 15: James ANTHONY of Jones Co., Thomas BLAKEY and Nancy BLAKEY of the one part to Wm. SWIFT - a lot no. 94-5, dist. Jan. 10, 1811.

"About 6 of his children's marriage records are recorded in Talbot Co., Ga., but there is no evidence he lived there.

"1820 census, Jones Co., Ga., page 145, James ANTHONY: 3 m[ales, aged] 0-10....(Milton, James, Henry Tate) 2 m 10-16...Thomas, probably oldest child, and Joseph B. 2 m 16-26...not identified, probably hired hands 1 m 26-45...James ANTHONY, Jr., head of house. 1 m 45-over...not identified, probably hired hand. 2 females, aged] 0-10...Nancy Tate, and Sarah T. 1 f [10-16...]Winifred, oldest daughter. 1 f 26-25...Elizabeth C., wife. Five engaged in agriculture, 10 slaves. 1840 census, Bibb Co., Ga., page 49, James ANTHONY: 1 m 10-15...perhaps stepson, John W. G. GORDON 1 m 50-60...James ANTHONY, Jr., head of house. 1 f 30-40...wife, Nancy GORDON. 1850 census, Monroe Co., Ga. James ANTHONY, 68 yrs. of age, occupation, Asst. C.C. $500 Nancy " 60 years of age."

Ann was born in 1752. She passed away in 1834. [5]
