Edmund Taylor was born about 1580 and was the son of Ann (Cotton) and Thomas Taylor, Sr. (Uncertain information)
Edmund has previously been shown as a son of Thomas Taylor, and grandson of Rowland Taylor, the Marian martyr. A privately-produced family history of 2000, William Taylor Wittel, 500 Years of Wittel and Related Families, lists him as son of Thomas and Elizabeth Burwell, without any supporting evidence[1] and this has been replicated in some unsourced trees on the internet: the information this family history gives for Rowland Taylor and his family is substantially inaccurate. There is no reliable evidence that Edmund was son of Thomas Taylor the martyr's son. He was detached from Thomas after a discussion in G2G in December 2019.
The family relationships give his mother as Elizabeth Burwell, as shown in William Taylor Wittel's family history work, but the text of the biography names his mother as Ann (Cotton).
