N1254Military Service: March 4, 1862, Enlisted in Company "E:, 49th Georgia

Regiment, CSA A. as a private and served until Dec. 20, 1862 when he was

given a disability discharge on account of chronic kidney disease

(according to company roll).

Soon after the war he moved from Wilcox to Echols County and lived on or

near the p resent A.C.L. Railroad. In 1878 he moved to clinch County and

bought a farm three miles north of Cow Creek in the Stockton district

(territory now in Lanier County since 1920). He was buried at Wayfare

Church. His widow was buried by him.

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were members of Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church,

being received in baptism Sept. 3, 1870. He died a member but she was

excluded June 3, 1905 in an internal descension in the church over church

affairs.
