Margaret Taylor was born in 1754 in Antrim, Ireland [1] and was 13 years old when she arrived in South Carolina with her family aboard the ship Earl of Donegall in 1767.[2]
About 4 years later, her future husband Robert Ross was granted the plot of land adjacent to her father's, which would lead to their marriage to occur most-probably within the next 2 years, or 1774.
After these two instances, the annuls of history are silent about Margaret, but much can be inferred by the biography of Robert Ross. She supported the Patriots in the Revolution, she gave birth to at least 5 children who survived to adulthood, and she lived the remainder of her life on the family farm in Laurens County, South Carolina.
