Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1679 in Suffield.[1] She was the daughter of Thomas Taylor and Abigail Roe. She passed away before 1779 (estimate, life span less than 100 years).

Elizabeth is a descendant of Hugh Roe. Hugh's descendants are detailed, after a fashion, in the Frank C. Roe book. [2]
Elizabeth is listed on page 10.

Elizabeth is listed in the Suffield Historical Society listing for Stephen Taylor family. [3]

Elizabeth is listed in the Pane-Joyce Genealogy web site under Family of Thomas Taylor (2851) & Abigail Roe. [4]

The family lived in Suffield, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Suffield eventually became part of the State of Connecticut. Suffield is now known as Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. [5]

Suffield [6]
Before 1674: Southfield, Massachusetts Bay Colony
1674 - 1682: Suffield, Massachusetts Bay Colony
1682 - 1692: Suffield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony
1692 - 1716: Suffield, Hampshire County, Province of Massachusetts Bay
1716 - 1788: Suffield, Hartford County, Colony of Connecticut
1788 - Present: Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA

In 1692 the Massachusetts Bay Colony was incorporated into the Province of Massachusetts Bay, of which parts eventually evolved into the State of Massachusetts (more or less).

When researching on any original records, consider these name changes over time. Some of the transcribed or interpreted data uses modern names instead of the event-contemporaneous names. This profile follows the Wikitree guidance for location names. [7]

Birth

1679 - [8], [2], [3], [4]
Note: There is a birth record of 06 Sep 1682 with the same parents, same location for Elizabeth Taylor [9] A possible explanation was the Elizabeth born in 1679 died in the period between when her sister Abigail was born in 06 Sep 1681 and before the birth of the next female sibling in 06 Sep 1682. The next sibling was a girl, born on 06 Sep 1682 so the name Elizabeth was reused, which was a common practice in those times.

Marriage

1703. Spouse: Josiah Clark. [4]

Death

<1779.
