Biography

Judith Taylor was born November 3, 1796, in Wilkes County, Georgia. On May 23, 1811, in Amite, Mississippi, "Judy" Taylor married Robert White. [1] Judith had children by her first marriage, including:

  • Caroline Virginia "Callie" White, born September 19, 1812, died 1897, in Jackson, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, married Harville Carter. [2] Note: After the death of Judith's first husband, Judith married Burrel Carter, and Harvile is one of his younger brothers.
  • David White, born circa 1814.

Judith's first husband died circa 1816. On October 29, 1818, Judith married Burrel Carter, [3] born June 2, 1796, in South Carolina, a son of Isaac Carter and Ann Elizabeth "Nancy" Young. Descendants of this family are eligible to join the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, based on Burrel's father's Revolutionary War service records. [4]

Judith (Taylor) White-Carter died May 2, 1883, at the age of 86 years, in Darlington, St. Helena Parish, Louisiana. [5]
