She married John M. Mitten on May 21, 1874 in Stark County, Ohio.[1] They did not have any children. John died on Dec. 20, 1908. Amanda's brother, William Taylor, who was a widower, then lived with her in Los Angeles.
Amanda Mitten died on Mar. 25, 1938. She is buried at the Angelus Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
