Note N1644[Familytree1.GED] From the Hamilton News, Steuben Co., IN, dated Friday March 5, 1954; Obituary; Russell H. Taylor, president and owner of the Hamilton Bank, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne. Death was attributed to ventricular fibrillation. Mr. Taylor had been hospitalized for several weeks and had suffered for several years with a heart ailment. A native of Hamilton, Mr. Taylor was born Dec. 31, 1895, son of the late Oscar H. and Elizabeth Leas Taylor. Mr. Taylor and Miss Madge Chapman were married on Jul 23, 1919. To this union, a son Roscoe, was born and on November 15, 1921, Mrs. Taylor passed away. On May 23, 1924, he and Miss Betty Vaughn were united in marriage in a ceremony at Spencerville. To them were born two daughters, Mrs. Richard Edwards of Rensselaer and Gwen, at home. Surviving besides the widow, son, and two daughters are seven grandchildren. His father had been owner of the Hamilton Bank and Mr. Taylor had taken sole ownership after the death of his brother, Benna, in 1950. The deceased was a member of the Masonic lodge, Odd Fellows, and the Methodist Church, all at Hamilton and the American Legion Post No. 47 at Fort Wayne. He was a veteran of World War I. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at the Swift Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Brown, pastor of the Methodist Church at Ridgeville, Ind., officiating. Burial will be in the Hamilton Cemetery.
