Archibald was born about 1720 in Argyll, Scotland - perhaps in Skipness.
He married Catherine Unknown about 1743 in Scotland.
The Taylors emigrated to America about 1770 with their six sons and daughter. In 1773 and 1774, Archibald Taylor received two grants in Bladen County: 640 acres and 500 acres.
Archibald died about 1780. His wife, Catherine, survived him, and moved to the Bahamas in 1789 to join her three sons.
