Biography

Ann was born in Huntington, Yorkshire, daughter of Jonathan Taylor and Mary (Nee Lockey.) and baptised on 23 December 1770.[1] She married Thomas Hawkins of Hovingham on 1 May 1798 at St Michael-Le-Belfrey in York City.[2]

Sometime between 1806 and 1811 the family moved from Yorkshire to Errol Scotland, where her husband Thomas became the huntsman at Errol House. Her youngest two children, Henry and Elizabeth were born in Errol. The other four children: Mary, Sarah, Thomas and Ann were all born in Yorkshire. Ann died on 20 Oct 1836 and is buried in the Errol Kirkyard along with husband Thomas and youngest daughter Elizabeth.

1845 Erected to the memory of THOMAS HAWKINS who died May 1843 aged 70 years and to his spouse ANN HAWKINS who died 20 October 1836 aged 63 years and of their daughter ELIZABETH HAWKINS who departed this life 2 February 1842 aged 27 years be ye also ready for. Ann (age 63) died in 1836 and was buried in Errol, Perthshire, Scotland.[3]
