Biography

Edwin was born in Sedalia, Missouri, Nov 2 1896 to William H. and Levisa A. Lee-Taylor. He was one of 14 children. After Edwin's birth and before the birth of their next child, Freddie, William moved the family to the Indian Territory, Choctaw Indian Reservation, "the White mans farming area." Oklahoma.

All the children were born in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri until Freddie, 1898.

I believe a tragedy happened to the family, after 1900 before the 1910 census was taken. their mother, and the beloved wife of William, Visey was taken ill and died. I think this is the "unknown reason" Edwin age 14, Lena age 16, Freddie age 11, and Clarence age 21, left their parents home in Oklahoma and moved in with their older brother, Julius and his wife, Fannie in Sedalia, Missouri. Their father William stayed in Oklahoma and died 5 years later. The children that stayed with their father in Oklahoma were, Claudie, Mollie married a Harrison and stayed, Lottie married a Harrison, brother to Mollies husband, James married Dovie Ann and stayed, Leonard I think went to MO., and Willie is not found...

The year is 1900 and the entire family moved to the Indian Territory Choctaw Nation

This census would make their marriage date: 1872, which would be good for the age of the older kids. On the same page of this census, next door is
  • HEAD: Julius age 23 b: Nov. 1876 MO

(this would prove the 1880 census as Julius the eldest son.)
ALSO note: 2 children have died
1 being Zeddie [1] Died before her 10th birthday.
2 would have to have been in infancy, all others lived to adulthood.

4 of the children of William H AND Levisa A were back in Sedalia MO. living with older brother Julius M and his wife Fannie- & their kids. The parents are not living with them. I did however, find them buried in Oklahoma. see their memorials in Short Mountain cemetery with 2 of their young children. Zettie and Edwin who is listed in the 1910 census.
