Biography

Keziah Taylor was born in 1740, in Virginia, a daughter of George Taylor and Elizabeth Williams. [1] On May 19, 1743, in Fairfax County, Virginia, Keziah's parents were granted lawful use of timber, excepted land between Clifton, corner trees of John Sherridons, Wm Williams. Taylor agrees to plant 100 apple tree "cions" in three years. Beg at the river side, down river to a locust post, branch where Thomas Carney is bounded, Fano? Easter line. During the natural lives of George, wife Elizabeth, daughter Keziah annual rent 830 lbs tobacco. [2]

George Taylor is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A115833. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of Kesiah (aka Hizziah) Taylor, who married Samuel Fields. [3]

"Hizziah" Fielder is identified as a daughter in the will of George Taylor, dated 23 February 1788. Keziah married Samuel Fielder. [4] Children of Keziah and Samuel were born in Loudoun County, Virginia:

  • Samuel Chapman Fielder, born circa 1760 married 1) Nancy Tyler and 2) Frances Leachman [5]
  • William Fielder, born circa 1768, married Jennie Jackson
  • Nancy Fielder, born circa 1770
  • Fanny Fielder, born circa 1771
  • George Fielder, born circa 1772
  • Susannah Fielder, born circa 1773, married Archibald Willis
  • Amy Fielder, born circa 1774
  • Winifred Fielder, born 1775, died 1832 in Butts County, Georgia, married Richard Hamblett.

Keziah (Taylor) Fielder died in 1804, in Rockingham County, North Carolina.
