John was born in Meltham, Yorkshire and baptised on 2 June 1813[1]. His parents were [Taylor-28988|James Taylor] and [Woodhead-206|Grace Woodhead].
Note that there was also John Taylor, son of David Taylor, baptised in Meltham in 1814. However, that John died in 1816, removing possibilities of confusion with this John in census returns.
John married Mary Ann Thornton in Holmbridge, Yorkshire, also part of Almondbury Parish, on 14 April 1834[2].
John died in Meltham on 27 May 1875 with the Administration of his affairs being given to his relict, Mary Ann Taylor[3]. He was buried in Meltham on 30 May 1875[4].
