He married 1) Sarah Horsford (alias Hosford) the daughter of William and Florence (Hayward) Horsford on 1 November 1642 at Windsor, Connecticut Colony. Their children, born at Windsor, Connecticut included[2]:
Stephen Taylor Jr. was born on March 11, 1644; died on August 3, 1710 in Windsor, Connecticut.[3]
Jerusha Taylor was born on November 16, 1645.
Samuel Taylor was born on October 8, 1647; died 5 August 5, 1723 in Westfield, Massachusetts; married Mary Banks on October 27, 1670 in Windsor, Connecticut.[4]
Sarah (Horsford) Taylor died on November 1, 1647 in her 23rd year following the birth of their son Samuel.
Stephen, a widower, married 2) widow Elizabeth (Unknown) Newell on October 25, 1649 at Windsor, Connecticut Colony.[5][6] Their children, born at Windsor, included:
Nathaniel Taylor was born on May 24, 1668; died 1682 in Windsor, Connecticut.[12][13]
Death and Burial
Stephen Taylor died on September 1, 1688 in his 64th year in Windsor, Connecticut Colony.[14] His Find-A-Grave memorial indicates that his burial location is not known.[15]
Stephen Taylor's genealogy has been researched and published at the Suffield Historical Society's web site[16] and in the Payne-Joyce genealogy web site[17].
Stephen Taylor is briefly mentioned in the James Granger book, about page 48, 56.[18]
Stephen Taylor is briefly mentioned in the Frank C. Roe book, on p. 10 as the father of Thomas Taylor (no DOB). [19]

In 1692, the Massachusetts Bay Colony was incorporated into the Province of Massachusetts Bay, of which parts eventually evolved into the State of Massachusetts (more or less).
Profile previously showed that his second wife, Elizabeth Newell, was the daughter of Thomas and Frances (Unknown) Newell. This has been disproven.

Would seem the second wife should be Elizabeth (_____) Nowell.
