Biography

Birth Baptism

Thomas Parsley Tayor was born 20 March 1886 at the Paarl, baptised on 2/5/1886 in the Anglican Church at Paarl, Cape Colony. Thomas Parsley Taylor the son of William Twentyman Taylor and Engela Hendrina de Beer. Baptized by Pastor RM Clark, witnesses: Charles Bond with Mary S. Parsley and Mary C. Arnold.[1]

Education

He attended Paarl Boys High where he was well educated, and played Rugby in the 1st Rugby team 1901. [2]

Marriage

Thomas Parsley Taylor (27) was married to Emily McDonald (19) at St. Peter's Anglican church at Krugersdorp on 26/3/1913 in the (Church of England) by Pastor A. Temple, witnessesed by Z. Taylor and S. McDonald. [3] Both parties agreed to be married with an Ante Nuptual Contract, and signed an agreement on 25/3/1913, witnessed by Emily's father William McDonald (Emily's father) [4]

Family

They had 6 children. A large amount of land at Rustenburg was granted to Thomas Taylor by his Father in Law William McDonald in 1921 [5].

Occupation

Tommy was an attorney in Rustenburg, and also served a term as mayor of Rustenburg. Tommy moved to Swartruggens at the time of the goldrush, and later moved to Lichtenburg and practised here as an attorney, and owned a cattle farm. [6] His sons were all well educated. Both Bill and Jack and Rupert McDonald Taylor were at Potchefstroom Boys high.

Death

Thomas Parsley Taylor passed away 24/10/1944 at General de la Rey Hospital at Lichtenburg MHG 5299/44 refers.[7] The cause of his death was cancer of the Kidney and bladder, as per Dr. J.J. du Preez. Thomas Taylor was received treatment for about 18 months. [8] His son Thomas, known as Jack took over his law practice at Lichtenburg, Transvaal, South Africa.

Thomas Parsley Taylor, or better known as T.P. was well educated in Cape Town, and a keen rugby player... He married Emily McDonald in 1913. He practised as an attorney in Rustenburg, later served on the council, and also a mayor of Rustenburg. (no source yet) When diamonds were discovered in Zwartruggens he decided to move there in around 1933. He and Emily had x 6 Children .

They both saw to it that their children received a good education, sending them to Paarl, where T.P. was educated. He also played rugby for Paarl Boys High 1st team. He practised as a solicitor in Lichtenburg: Taylor & son. His son, Thomas Parsley Taylor, yet is very known as Jack Taylor. Jack worked with his father as an attorney. Tom passed away in the De la Rey Hospital in Lichtenburg in 1944.....
