Rachel Teague married David Shepherd, son of the wealthy founder of Shepherdstown, Virginia (became part of West Virginia when West Virginia seceded from Virginia before the Civil War). Rachel's son, David Shepherd, Jr., was born at Shepherd's Mill Fort during an Indian raid on white settlers.

He was made Lieutenant of Ohio County, Virginia. After the War, he served in Congress.

Daughter Ruth Shepherd's husband served in the Continental Army as a lieutenant and later as a captain. Daughter Elizabeth Shepherd was killed by Indians at Limestone, Kentucky in 1792.[4]

Teague-1922 and Teague-15 appear to represent the same person because: same birth and death locations, -1922 needs sources for dates
