Moses moved from Frederick County, Virginia, to Orange County, North Carolina, to Rowan County, North Carolina, and then back to Orange County (the part that became Chatham County).[citation needed]
On 5 November 1756, Moses was granted 350 acres of land in Rowan County, North Carolina, on Voucher #559 under Grant #202 Recorded in Book 6, page 221 with a location of ? Big at a sho.[3]
On 1 February 1763 in Orange County, North Carolina, Moses Teague along with Abraham Teague and Jos McLester were witnesses to the Will of Timothy Terrell.[4]
Patriotic Service: between 5 March 1782 to 20 September 1786, Moses received pay for providing supplies for the Revolutionary Army of the United States. See Military Service for information.
Moses is listed as the first of the Teague family on record in Chatham County, North Carolina, having come from Rowan County in 1762 to the area of the Rocky River Baptist Church.[5]

On 5 March 1782, in Hillsborough, North Carolina, Moses Teague established his claim and received pay for supplies to Military on . He was paid ? one Pound , Seven Shillings and two Pince on Voucher No: 1091.[7]
On 1 October 1783, in Hillsborough, Orange, North Carolina, Moses proved his claim and received Twenty-two Pounds, Two Shillings and six Pince on Voucher No 5989 for Services / Supplies provide to the Military.

On 23 August 1784, in Hillsborough, Orange, North Carolina, Moses proved his claim and received Nineteen pounds and five shillings on Voucher No. 6796.[10]
On 20 September 1786, in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina, Moses proved his claim and was allowed Eleven pounds and Sixteen Shillings, paid on Voucher # 9217.[11]

In his Will, Moses names the following persons, in the following order:

my children Moses Teague, Ezebell [Isabella] Wellborn, Abraham Teague, Isaac Teague, Jacob Teague, Wm. Teague, Elizabeth Jonson [Johnson], Susanah Marly [Marley], Hannah Hornidy [Horniday], David Teague, Charity Ray

Witnesses: Jacob Teague, [2nd name difficult to read].
Executors: my Wife Rachel Teague, my son David Teague.
He died before August 1799, presumably in Chatham County, North Carolina.[2][12] His burial place is unknown but there is a memorial in Rocky River Cemetery, Rocky River, Chatham, North Carolina.[citation needed]
The Will of Moses Teague was proved in August 1799 in the County Court of Chatham County, North Carolina.[2][12]
On 25 November 1799, the Estate of Moses Teague was accounted by the Executor David Teague and recorded in the Court Records of Chatham County, North Carolina.[13]
Research Notes
In her book The Free State of Jones, Movie Edition: Mississippi's Longest Civil War, Victoria E. Bynum states the following about Moses and his parents William and Isabel Teague. Isabel is referred to as Isabel Teague, her maiden name of Loftin is not stated.
"In 1751 Younger Welborn's Great-grandparents William and Isabel Teague arrived in North Carolina with their family, including several grown sons, from western Maryland. Their son Moses Teague moved to Rowan County in 1756 where his children intermarried with those of his neighbor William Welborn, also from Maryland. The Rowan County Welborns remained nonslaveholders, but Moses Teague eventually acquired "one negro man Abraham."[14]
